Hui No'eau Visual Arts Center Wedding

A space for our local community to gather while fostering the arts, Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center is also a stunning wedding venue located in Makawao. This beautiful mansion is a piece of Maui’s rich history. Originally built in 1917 Hui No’eau resides on the site of an early Maui sugar mill. The historic home and estate still features beautifully detailed ‘upcountry’ Maui design elements from over a century ago. Today, Hui No’eau offers a private dedicated space to host your wedding.

Spaces Available at Hui No’eau to Host Your Wedding Day Events

A wedding day is a multi-faceted event that celebrates the coming together of two souls while honoring cultural traditions. Many of the couples we work with at Maui Love require a wedding venue that has the flexibility to offer multiple spaces. At the very least, that looks like offering a dedicated space for getting ready, your first look, ceremony, cocktail hour, portraits, and reception. However, some of our couples (such as Daila & Anthony) require a space where they can host a bedeken and their ketubah signing. Hui No’eau offers four dedicated spaces to host each break-out event of your wedding. In addition to a ‘create your own’ option. We’ll discuss each space a bit more in-depth.

Panoramic Lawn

Undoubtedly stunning in every direction, the panoramic views from the lawn at Hui No’eau are beautiful for your outdoor wedding ceremony. We also love utilizing this space for a varied wedding portrait experience.

Solarium

The Solarium at Hui No’eau is an exquisite glass enclosure featuring hardwood floors and views of Haleakala, West Maui Mountains, and Maui’s North Shore. This space, teeming with streams of natural light is wonderful for a cocktail hour, a first look, or for a traditional Jewish bedeken.

Reflection Pond

Charming, elegant, and filled with sophistication, the reflection pond at Hui No’eau is located just outside the solarium. These spaces can be combined to accommodate your tented reception. Conversely, you can opt to leave this space uncovered for an enchanting evening celebrating your union under a blanket of stars.

Outdoor Courtyard

Adjacent to the estate home, the outdoor courtyard is a wonderful breakout space for guests to gather in conversation or take a break from the dance floor. This space features a breathtaking fountain and all of the original charm and splendor this historical property is known for.

Create Your Own

As approved wedding planners, Maui Love can work with Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center to create a unique space for your wedding that suits your vision and your needs. There are endless options to customize this stunning venue with creativity and design.

Total Capacity

Hui No’eau is able to accommodate weddings with up to 250 guests. If your wedding day has a guest list that exceeds 85 guests, the venue will require a parking attendant or valet as well as portable facilities for your guests.

Planning a Wedding at Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center

It’s also important to note that Hui No’eau requires all weddings that take place at their venue to work with an approved wedding planner. This requirement is to ensure that your wedding runs smoothly and there is a dedicated professional to communicate and confer with the venue on your behalf. It’s also to uphold the integrity of the historical aspects of the property while honoring decor restrictions and requirements.
