Michael and Wei met all the way back in 2016 when they attended the same music festival. They were both hanging out with mutual friends of theirs and just having a good time. It was chemistry at first sight. But it wouldn’t be until months later that the pair would take the next step. In fact, it was a surprise kiss at Wei’s company Christmas party that took things from friendship to relationship. With their relationship now solidified, they began to share their mutual love for traveling. The couple visited Thailand, Singapore, Machu Picchu, China, Whistler, and a trip to Boston where Wei met Michael’s parents. Since that first trip to Boston, they’ve made it a Thanksgiving tradition to go back every year and enjoy the holiday with Michael’s family.

Are you wondering what city their proposal took place? It was in New York! With a firm yes from Wei, the couple took a few photos during sunset on the Brooklyn Bridge, before heading off to an engagement party downtown. The globe-traversing couple knew they wanted a wedding day as rich and beautiful as their love story. So they decided on an oceanfront wedding at The Ritz Carlong Kapalua. While the Ritz Carlton Kapalua offers over 40 event rooms, for Michael and Wei, The Beach House Lawn created the perfect backdrop for their wedding ceremony and reception.

Undoubtedly, The Ritz Carlton is renowned for its world-class service. The dining options for wedding receptions create a tantalizing experience for you and your guests. Michael and Wei treated their guests to passed hors d’oeuvres and a three-course plated meal. All with a view of gently swaying palm trees as the waves crashed against the shore. It was incredibly chic and draped in romance.

In fact, one of the aspects we love most about Michael and Wei’s wedding is their choice of photography. Film photography captured every candid, unscripted emotion. Evoking the beauty of their story on the day they were joined in marriage. To top it all off, we worked with Micahel and Wei on a color palette of creamy neutrals, lightly shaded pinks, and dashes of red, tying together the ambiance of their wedding day. During the reception, they popped a bottle of bottle of bubbly for a fun champagne tower (another trend we love helping our couples plan!), before Wei changed into her sparkly reception dress and they hit the dance floor.
