Alexa + Josh’s Maui Destination Wedding

A Maui destination wedding is an experience unlike any other.

Alexa and Josh worked with us to plan their dream wedding day at Olowalu Plantation House. They are one couple who truly had a specific vision of what their wedding day would be. From styling and decor to touch-point experiences and one momentous party.

When it came to styling their wedding, what Alexa and Josh had in mind was something bordering minimalism. But in a way that was every bit chic and, of course, tropical. The color palette was all white everything. The florals, dance floor, and table settings were crisp white juxtaposed with natural elements. Elegant white orchids were used to create the bride’s cascading bouquet. Similarly, individual stems of white orchids were arranged in cylindrical glass vases for the guest’s seating and the sweetheart table. Softly glowing votive candles accented the delicate florals and gave the reception an elevated look while still maintaining the chic, tropical, minimalist experience.

However, where Alexa and Josh really dazzled on their wedding day was in their ability to be present and relish each moment. They shared a deeply personal moment with one another before meeting at the altar with a first look followed by private vows. But they also flourished in the presence of their guests. Contagious laughter with their bridal party and the joy-filled moment of being announced as husband and wife. Later in the evening, there were choreographed dances at the reception with the bride and her mom, private moments for Alexa and Josh to walk along the shore with their wedding photographer, and freshly chopped coconuts for each guest, which doubled as their escort card.
